a) Account Information
When you register for a Trackleon account, we collect your email address and a password. We use this information to:

- Send you essential service-related communications (e.g., password resets, billing notifications).
Your password is always stored in a secure, hashed format and is never visible to us.
b) Website Usage and Analytics Data
Like most websites, we collect aggregated and anonymized data about how visitors use our site. This may include:
- The pages you visit and the features you interact with.
- General information about your browser, device type, and operating system.

You can control the use of cookies at the individual browser level, but if you choose to disable them, it may limit your use of certain features on our website.
Trackleon Chrome Extension Privacy
This section specifically governs the data practices of the Trackleon Chrome Extension ("the Extension") and details how we handle the permissions you grant it.
a) Permissions and Their Use
To function correctly, the Extension requires the following permissions:
activeTab&scripting: These permissions are used together to enable the core feature of the Extension. When you click "Select Element," we inject a script into your currently active tab. This script allows us to create the visual highlighter you see on the page and to capture the CSS selector of the element you click. We do not access or modify any other content on the page.storage: We use the browser's local storage to cache your authentication status and tracker statistics. This makes the popup load instantly and reduces unnecessary network requests, providing a faster experience.cookies&host_permissionsfor trackleon.com: These permissions are required to securely authenticate you with the Trackleon backend. By accessing the cookie for our domain, we can verify your identity and fetch your account-specific data, such as your tracker limits.
b) Data Collected by the Extension
The Extension collects only the data essential for its operation:
- Webpage and Element Data: When you create a tracker, we collect the URL of that page and the CSS selector of the specific element you select. This is the necessary information for our service to monitor the content for you.
- User Account Information: To personalize the experience, the Extension fetches your authentication status and tracker usage statistics from the Trackleon backend.
c) Information We DO NOT Collect
- The Extension does not track your browsing history. It only interacts with a page when you explicitly activate it by clicking the "Select Element" button.
- The Extension does not collect any personal information from the webpages you visit.
d) How Extension Data is Used
- The URL and CSS selector are sent to our servers to create the content tracker you requested.
- Your account information is used solely to display your stats within the Extension and to verify your subscription status.
Data Storage and Security
We are committed to protecting your information. We implement the following security practices:
- The tracker data you create (URLs and CSS selectors) is stored securely on our servers.
- All communication between our clients (the website and the Extension) and our servers is encrypted using industry-standard HTTPS.
- Your password is always stored in a secure, hashed format.
- Data cached by the Chrome Extension is stored locally on your computer using the standard
chrome.storageAPI and is not transmitted elsewhere.
While we take all reasonable measures to protect your data, please be aware that no security system is impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of our database.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personally identifiable information with any third parties for marketing purposes.
Your data is used solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Trackleon service. We may share data with third-party service providers only when it is essential for the operation of our service, such as with our payment processor to handle subscriptions. These providers are bound by their own strict privacy and security obligations.
